Following a development, a Leeds loanee may abandon Elland Road and go in January.

Cody Drameh might potentially permanently leave Leeds United in January as Luke Ayling’s growth is apparent.

Cody Drameh‘s tenure at Leeds United may come to an end if Luke Ayling accepts the club’s offer of a new deal.

On October 16, the West Yorkshire team prepared to extend a new contract to the player with over 260 club appearances, according to online news source TEAMtalk.

The former Whites player is thought to be very firmly established in the city with his young family and is eager to start negotiations on new terms.

There is no denying the full-back’s dedication to the Whites‘ cause over the past year or so, which is more than can be said about some players right now. Nevertheless, the 31-year-old has come under fire after a few challenging displays that undoubtedly lost him his spot in recent weeks.

Farke is still thought to view Drameh as a key part of his plans for Elland Road, but this choice may have long-term effects for him, especially in light of Djed Spence‘s loan investment and Sam Byram’s free transfer.

On transfer deadline day, then-Birmingham manager John Eustace snatched up the England youth star on a season-long loan to St Andrew’s, just as the 21-year-old appeared to be eying a berth in Daniel Farke‘s Leeds squad this season.

Drameh has adapted to life with the Blues with some outstanding performances at right-back so far, even if Farke may not have included him in his plans for this season after some difficult starting encounters in Leeds white earlier in the season.

Drameh has the highest tackle success rate of any Championship defender, according to Between The Lines, with 100%, 11.1 percentage points higher than second-place Dion Sanderson and above Leeds’ Pascal Struijk and Ethan Ampadu, underscoring his influence at St Andrew’s already.

More importantly, after Eustace was fired, the Blues hired Wayne Rooney as their new manager, and the chance for the Elland Road academy product to play under the Manchester United great on a more consistent basis could prove to be quite alluring.

The Whites now have a tonne of options at right-back, including Ayling, Stuart Dallas, who is close to returning to full health, and Spence, who is recuperating from a previous injury. This strongly suggests that Drameh won’t be playing for West Yorkshire anytime soon.

Furthermore, Ayling‘s choice to accept Leeds United’s offer of a new contract may push him to leave his parent club in January for the sake of his career.
