Burnley’s have closed the gap on Leeds United at the top of the Championship as the promotion race for the Premier League hots up.
Burnley’s crucial three points against Oxford United dealt Leeds United a blow in their hopes of promotion to the Premier League. The Clarets needed a win badly to stay in touch with the top two, Sheffield United and Leeds, after three goalless draws in four games. Burnley, predictably, got off to a fast start but were frustrating their home crowd by not taking advantage of their opportunities.
