Goalkeeper Jason Steele of Brighton & Hove Albion has furthered his commitment to the team by agreeing to a new, extended contract that will keep him with the team until June 2026.
We have decided to keep him with us until at least June 2026, and I am overjoyed that his patience and loyalty are now being rewarded.
The goalkeeper, who previously played for Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers, and Middlesbrough, has made 39 appearances for the team while maintaining 14 clean sheets.
In January 2019, Jason made his Albion debut at AFC Bournemouth during an Emirates FA Cup third round match. In November 2021, he made his Premier League debut at Villa Park.
After four and a half seasons as a vital member of the team and a well-respected senior player for Albion, Roberto recognized his abilities and elevated him to regular keeper for the second half of the 2022–2023 campaign.
He was excellent, playing in 15 Premier League games as we achieved our highest-ever top-tier finish of sixth and made our first-ever European qualification.
He has participated in nine games this season in all competitions, playing alongside new summer addition Bart Verbruggen.
