The Fulham manager, Marco Silva, has acknowledged that he is happy that Morgan Gibbs-White will not be playing for Nottingham Forest on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Cottagers, who have won their past four league games, will be feeling good as they head to the City Ground.
Following their victory against Leicester City, Fulham faced Ipswich Town and West Ham United in back-to-back 1-1 draws before defeating Newcastle United 3-1 the previous weekend.
Now that Silva’s team needs to win two games in a row, their chances of winning all three points have increased because Forest won’t be able to use one of their star players.
Nuno Espirito Santo, the manager of Forest, will have to manage without Gibbs-White after his dismissal against Brighton & Hove Albion.
In the 83rd minute of the 2-2 draw, Gibbs-White was shown his walking orders after picking up his second yellow card of the match.
Silva admits the Gibbs-White
The England international will miss Saturday’s Premier League fixture due to a one-match ban, which he received after collecting his second red card of his professional career.
Silva has acknowledged that he is happy that Gibbs-White won’t be available this weekend as Fulham looks to end Forest’s perfect start to the campaign.
“As you know, it’s more for Nuno than it is for me,” Silva informed the media on Thursday before the game. To be honest though, Nuno would much rather play with Gibbs-White. And it’s easy for me to say that I like to play them without Gibbs-White.
They are an excellent side. We’ll see who they use in Gibbs-White’s place; Elliot Anderson is a very good player, and they have great wide players in Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga, as well as a striker who is having a strong game who can hurt any team.”
Silva praises Smith-Rowe’s influence.
After joining Fulham in the summer from Arsenal, Emile Smith Rowe set a club record and has since scored two goals and supplied one assist in five league games. Silva also took the time to commend Rowe’s effect.
“He is a talent and different than what we had in the last few seasons, the Fulham manager stated. In that position, Emile has everything. It’s difficult that he hasn’t played much in the last few years.”
“He has more to offer and will be given more minutes. He’s a regular man, a shy guy. On the field, I want him to express himself.
Smith Rowe is anticipated to start the match on Saturday and attempt to assist Fulham in winning their first away game of the Premier League season.
