Gary Neville has predicted that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur will finish above Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the Premier League table this season.
The Sky Sports pundit was really impressed by Tottenham’s performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
So, what did Gary Neville say about Tottenham Hotspur? Let’s have a look.
Gary Neville offers Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal predictions.
Tottenham Hotspur drew 2-2 away to Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.
Spurs performed admirably against the Red Devils, and were arguably the superior team. The North London club was also missing some of its top players, including playmaker James Maddison and striker Son Heung-min.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville, who did not want Ivan Toney to join Arsenal this month, was impressed with Spurs.
The pundit believes Tottenham can finish ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League table.
Neville told Sky Sports: “If they keep their players fit, they are almost guaranteed to finish in the top four, and I believe they can finish second or third.
“With those players returning, and if they can get through the next three weeks, I believe they will be better than Arsenal and Liverpool this season.
“It might be a good FA Cup draw versus Manchester City. Get out of that and focus solely on the league. However, they need to win a trophy.
“If he wins a title, that’s fantastic, but we’ve seen in the past that clubs that have had a really spectacular season aren’t usually in Europe or competing.
“For Ange Postecoglou to get to second or third, which they could do if they have a clean run at it, would be something special.”
My opinion: Tottenham should have a positive outlook.
Arsenal came close to winning the Premier League title last season and are one of the teams that could do so again this season. Liverpool are now top of the league table.
Manchester City has won their previous three Premier League games and is back to their best.
Tottenham will face challenges, and I feel they should aim on finishing in the top four of the Premier League table.
Spurs may find it difficult to finish ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool, but if the North London team continues to win games and accumulate points, they may be able to achieve it.
Tottenham fans should be optimistic, but the squad should aim for a top-four finish.
