German media coverage of Leeds United’s Tuesday night target Nico Elvedi following a crushing 5-1 loss

Although Nico Elvedi is now being considered by Leeds United for a transfer this month or at the end of the season, he suffered a 5-1 thrashing on Tuesday night.

While Daniel Farke was managing Gladbach in the 2022–2023 season, Switzerland international Elvedi worked for Leeds United. Farke then joined Leeds at the end of that season.
In the middle of the defense, Leeds lacks cover. Max Wober is now playing backup, but the Austrian is being linked to a move away and has ailments. Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk are still the team’s primary choices.

Leeds may need to replace Wober at the conclusion of the season since the left-footed defender has had knee problems the entire time. Elvedi might take Wober’s place as an old teammate.
Rate of the media Nico Elvedi suffers in a 5-1 loss to Gladbach Ralph Hasenhuttl is making an impression as manager of Wolfsburg. The former Southampton manager joined the German team after Hasenhuttl was linked to Leeds after Jesse Marsch was fired in 2023.

Hasenhuttl joined Wolfsburg in March 2024 and has since won 15 of his 28 games as manager, including possibly his greatest performance to far on Tuesday night. a decisive 5-1 victory over Gladbach despite Elvedi’s defensive struggles.

Since he and Gladbach were unable to halt Wolfsburg, Rheinsche Post gave Elvedi a 5/10 rating, saying, “He was primarily called upon to build up play in the first 45 minutes, as Wolfsburg did not move forward.” As a result, he had the most ball contacts of any Borussian player during the first half, according to the RP.

Gerhardt‘s solo run was saved at the last second. He made a terrible impression before the 0–2 match when he was tunneled by the wind, but it became worse when he just let Nmecha score the fifth goal by running away behind him.

Daniel Farke revealed Nico Elvedi’s price.
According to reports, Farke is eager to complete a deal “now,” meaning Leeds would have to pay £10 million to sign Elvedi in the upcoming weeks. In the competition for Elvedi, Leeds is reportedly ahead of Wolves.

Gerardo Seoane, the manager of Gladbach, is content with Elvedi, though. Despite his performance on Tuesday, the defender is an important member of Gladbach‘s team and is getting closer to making the top ten appearances in Gladbach’s history.

In all likelihood, a deal for Elvedi would be reached if the team was promoted to the Premier League. However, he is obviously open to joining Leeds and working with Farke again; whether or not that happens will depend on how Leeds does this season.
