It has sparked backlash.
Gabriel Agbonlahor, a TalkSPORT analyst, has spoken out following a decision made by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy this week.
Spurs fly under Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs have been revitalised since manager Ange Postecoglou arrived last summer.
The north Londoners are now playing a style of football that is more in line with Spurs’ ideals, and it has captured the hearts of supporters during 2023/2024.
Tottenham‘s dominant offensive play has launched them into a top-four duel with Unai Emery‘s Aston Villa, with both teams ready to meet off this weekend in a crucial encounter in the hunt for Champions League qualifying.
Tottenham’s last five Premier League results with date

There is enough to be hopeful about at N17 right now, to the point where Levy and the Spurs board made the unpopular decision to boost season ticket prices by 6% for next season.
This sparked outrage among supporters, with the official fans group issuing a statement expressing their deep dissatisfaction.
“We oppose any Season Ticket increase and the removal or reduction of Senior concessions, both of which are also opposed by the Fan Advisory Board,” wrote the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust.
“THST Board members met with the club on February 21 and were presented with the Season Ticket proposals for the first time.” We disagreed on several points during this meeting, and as a result of our feedback, adjustments were implemented.
“We do, however, remain hugely disappointed to see Season Tickets increase by six per cent.”
While excitement surrounds Tottenham’s season, with their attractiveness expanding to Europe’s top players such as Lucas Bergvall, a 6% increase in season ticket prices may price some fans out of match days.
Agbonlahor puzzled by Levy’s decision to increase Tottenham ticket prices.
That is echoed by talkSPORT’s Agbonlahor, who criticises Levy for hiking ticket prices at Tottenham despite the club’s significant progress under Postecoglou. The Englishman believes that north Londoners should start “winning trophies” before raising costs.
“What I don’t like is money is tough for people out there, I’ve got friends in London who can’t even get on the property ladder, it’s ridiculous prices in London,” claimed the former Aston Villa striker.
“You go there and do your food shopping; the prices are absurd. The bills are going higher. People utilise their spare money, die-hard fans, to go see games, and you are raising the fees. Certain folks may find this prohibitively expensive.
“Like you said, such a wealthy club is not winning any awards; nonetheless, the game is better, more entertaining football. But, Spurs, maybe start winning some trophies before you start announcing a 6% increase.”
