Giovani Lo Celso has stated that his colleague Alejo Veliz has settled in nicely in his new surroundings since joining Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
Lo Celso, like Veliz, began his career at Rosaria Central, and the midfielder, along with Tottenham‘s Spanish-speaking contingent, which includes Cristian Romero, Bryan Gil, and Pedro Porro, have truly taken the striker under their wing.
The Argentina Under-20 international has already made six substitute appearances, indicating that Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff liked what they saw of him in training.
Bologna (1000 Cuori Rossoblu) and River Plate (El Crack Deportivo Noticias) are both expected to try to sign the Tottenham midfielder on loan in January, according to reports.
Alejo Veliz wowed Lo Celso during training.
It remains to be seen what Spurs do with Veliz, but Lo Celso is impressed by the youngster’s adaptability to a new style of play and eagerness to learn.
“He looks very good,” the 27-year-old said of the center-forward. When you first arrive in Europe, it is difficult to adjust, especially in a competition like the Premier competition, where training sessions are intense.
“He listens, he learns, he has already had minutes, he feels more and more at ease and understands the language, because when you first arrive, you don’t understand anything.”
“There is a lovely group and dressing room with a lot of Spanish.” We’ve got him close, but he’ll get a lot more minutes and the goals will come.”
Spurs Online Opinion
I completely expect Tottenham to loan Veliz out in January, possibly to a Championship club, so that the striker can adjust to the intensity and physicality of English football.
Spurs may wait until the end of next month to sanction a loan so that they are not left short of options upfront, considering that Son will be gone at the Asian Cup.
