‘Heartbreaking’: 27-year-old admits he wanted to quit while working with Jose Mourinho at Tottenham.

Dele Alli has spoken up about his difficulties in the football world.

The midfielder discussed his life and the problems he’s been having with football in an interview with Gary Neville on The Overlap.

Alli discussed some incredibly tragic events in his life, and it’s clear to see why he’s been struggling recently after watching this interview.
Alli claims that his lowest experience in football occurred at Tottenham during Jose Mourinho‘s tenure as manager, and that at the age of 24, he was already considering quitting from the game.

Alli desired to retire.

“The most heartbreaking moment for me was when Mourinho was manager, when I was 24, and there was only one session.” “I woke up one morning and had to go to training; this was when he stopped playing me, and I was looking in the mirror, and it sounds dramatic, and I was asking if I could retire now at 24 doing what I love, and that was heartbreaking for me,” Alli said.
Later in the conversation, the midfielder stressed that he did not blame Mourinho for his personal troubles.

“We’re all human, and it all breaks down and comes out wrong.” “I turned to the wrong thoughts, and I don’t blame Mourinho, I don’t blame anyone; my reaction to that wasn’t right, and it wasn’t something I could control,” Alli explained.

What a pity
It’s a disgrace to watch anyone speak about their passion in this manner, and it’s even more disgraceful to have a player like Dele Alli speak in this manner.

During his early days at Spurs, the 27-year-old was a genuinely prodigal talent; he played with such enthusiasm, he always had a large smile on his face, and he was one of the very best players in the Premier League.

Of course, none of that counts when it comes to off-field issues, which we would never want on any footballer, but it is even more terrible to witness a player who once shone so brightly now speaking in this manner.

We can only hope that Alli can regain his form and rediscover his love for the game at some stage.
