Cesc Fabregas has lavished praise on James Maddison, suggesting that the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder possesses the talent and personality to consistently make a difference in important moments.
Maddison had an incredible start to the season after joining Tottenham last summer, and he was arguably the finest player in the Premier League for the first three months of the season.
However, the 27-year-old sustained an ankle injury that sidelined him for over three months, and while Maddison has not regularly reached the same heights since regaining fitness, he has begun to return to his earlier standards in recent weeks.
The England international gave one of his best games in a Spurs shirt in Tottenham‘s 4-0 triumph at Villa Park, with some analysts praising the former Leicester City player for dominating the midfield fight (Garth Crooks – BBC Sport). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said following the match against Fulham.

Fabregas, who understands what it takes to succeed in the Premier League’s eighth and tenth positions, has now described Maddison as a ‘complete player’.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal man told Planet Premier League Podcast (as quoted by The Metro): “You could tell he was confident right immediately. He has the personality to demand the ball, initiate events, and create situations.
“He is good at dribbling, assisting, and scoring goals. So he’s a really complete player in my opinion. He works well with Son and the forwards, and I think he’s a terrific player to have.
“And, as a coach, I’m sure you have to adapt to your players’ strengths, and the higher their quality, the easier it is. And he is obviously someone you would want on your squad.”
