Mateusz Musialowski, Leeds United’s January target, would make a “fantastic” addition to the squad.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton praised the young forward’s impressive numbers and adaptability for Liverpool‘s junior teams.
According to Football Insider (22 January), the Whites have expressed interest in signing the Poland under-21 international, who has also been linked with many second-tier clubs.
Musialowski has yet to make a senior appearance, but he has scored 30 goals in 80 Reds outings and can play in a variety of attacking positions.
Hutton was enthused by the idea of the 20-year-old, whose contract expires in June, heading to Elland Road, claiming he would have the “freedom” to grow under Daniel Farke right away.
“He’s playing for Rangers , so he’s obviously got something about him,” he told Football Insider.
“He doesn’t play first-team football, but he’s really versatile; he can play throughout the front, and his numbers in the younger ranks are fantastic.
“He has an opportunity if he goes to Leeds.
“You are giving him a platform to demonstrate his abilities.
“He has a lot of potential, so playing for a team like Leeds, which is flying high and has a lot of young talent, allows you that flexibility.
“That’s the opportunity he needs and will look for.
“This could be a fantastic move for him and I think he’d do well at Leeds.”
