Jonjo Shelvey, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, has been talking about leaving City Ground during the summer transfer window. During the summer, the Reds gave the 31-year-old permission to go on a season-long loan to Rizespor in Turkey.
Shelvey, who was once a player for Newcastle United, joined Forest during the January transfer window. He signed on a free transfer from St James’ Park after seven years there, however he only appeared in eight games for Forest.
It was a challenging period for Shelvey because he had a lot of trouble staying consistent. He never again played for the team after getting into a fight with Steve Cooper about being benched for the team’s April trip to Liverpool.
The midfield player occasionally has a negative reputation. But if that’s the case and there has been a falling out, it’s not shocking to see him cut off from the Forest team.
Shelvey discusses his time at Forest with Chronicle Live. They contend that the midfield player was “hurt massively” when the team informed him in the summer that he “wasn’t going to play.”
