Micah Richards has been left perplexed by something else Nottingham Forest has done.
The commentator appeared on this week’s episode of The Rest is Football podcast.
So, what has Richards said about Forest recently? Let’s look at his newest comments.
Micah Richards is baffled by what Nottingham Forest has done.
This is not surprising given Forest‘s recent appointment of Mark Clattenburg as a Referee Analyst.
Richards has been speaking about the altercation involving Forest and referee Paul Tierney during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Forest appointed Mark Clattenburg to his new position last month, and he will give the club with referee education and reports.
Richards, on the other hand, doesn’t comprehend it and has reacted negatively to Forest‘s choice.
He asked The Rest is Football podcast, “Is this real life?” Is this football? Is this where the game is heading? They’ve hired him as a consultant. So he goes to PGMOL to complain.
“So, what do they want? An apology? What? I do not comprehend. I see why they hired him; he is good at his job. But I don’t get the whole meaning of it.”
Forest appointing Clattenburg isn’t doing any favours just yet.
We absolutely understand why Forest chose Clattenburg, and this position is not unusual in Europe – even if Richards disagrees.
However, it appears that Forest has been the victim of some genuine stinkers in recent weeks.
Okay, the Reds could have done a better job clearing their lines over the weekend, but in the end, Paul Tierney denied Forest a chance to score.
Stephen Warnock stated yesterday that Forest should mention Clattenburg on the team sheet so that he may communicate with the referee if necessary.
With that evaluation, he has a valid argument, and Forest may need to adjust the 48-year-old’s job accordingly.
Forest can only concentrate on football right now, but you get the impression that if Manchester City appointed a Referee Analyst, Richards would hail it as a tremendous move
