Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min refused to sign a Korean fan’s throwback shirt due to concerns about spoiling it.
In a video broadcast on X, formerly known as Twitter, Son remarked, “Oh, I can’t do that because [my signature] might ruin it,” in response to a fan offering to autograph the throwback jersey.
The fan’s shirt is a recreation of the football club’s 1990s uniform.
According to Sport Bible’s Saturday report, Son might have signed his autograph elsewhere because he was already holding a marker.
Son is regarded as one of the Premier League’s most amiable players, with fans praising his soft and polite relationships.
He has routinely signed autographs for Korean fans who fly to the United Kingdom to see his games and then wait outside the stadium. Despite his busy schedule, he occasionally takes photos with admirers.
Last year, Son, who has an endorsement contract with Samsung, Apple’s tech rival, graciously declined to hold a fan’s iPhone when she asked for a selfie with him. The user captioned the TikTok video with the message that admirers should bring a Samsung phone to take a selfie with him.
