Joe Rodon could return to Tottenham Hotspur from Leeds United in January, with Spurs struggling for options in the middle of their defence as Ange Postecoglou juggles a dreadful injury list.
Rodon, 26, has been an outstanding performer for Leeds this season. The Wales international has played 14 Championship games for the club, starting 13 of them, and has contributed to five clean sheets and eight wins.
When his loan at Leeds expires, the Tottenham player will enter the final year of his contract. In the summer, his future at Spurs appeared to be over. However, this could change.
According to a’source with knowledge,’ Phil Hay‘s loan does not include a recall clause. Gold, on the other hand, believes the Spurs could consider recalling Rodon and looking into a possible recall.
“Joe Rodon, Leeds, had an iffy result, drawing 1-1 with Rotherham.” Rodon has been on fire at Leeds. Leeds supporters want him to stay. Leeds would be insane not to try to make that happen.
“I wouldn’t be surprised even if Spurs looked at the possibility of bringing him back in January, with the issues that Spurs have got and if there is any kind of recall clause,” Gold said in a recent YouTube video.
Joe Rodon could return to Tottenham in January, according to Alasdair Gold.
It would be a devastating blow for Leeds, and hopefully Hay’s source is correct. At this point, we cannot function without Rodon. Wales’ star is among the first names on the roster.
Hopefully, Rodon would turn down the opportunity to return and see it for what it is – simply coming into a Spurs side as a backup for Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. It is critical that he stays.
