Ian Foster issues a judgement regarding Darko Gyabi debut display for Plymouth

Plymouth Argyle boss Ian Foster has issued his judgement on the debut display of Darko Gyabi following his loan move from Leeds United during the week

After struggling to get any playing time for Leeds this season, Darko Gyabi received a much-needed loan move this month. Under Daniel Farke, he made just one league game, making a late appearance in the team’s victory over Ipswich Town in August.

However, Foster had no qualms about inserting him right into the starting lineup for Argyle‘s Saturday trip to Huddersfield Town.

When Darko Gyabi makes his Plymouth debut, Ian Foster responds

Darren Moore‘s team and Plymouth tied 1-1, with both goals coming in the first half. Gyabi, on the other hand, played the entire ninety minutes with Ashley Phillips, another rookie.
In an interview with the club’s official media team, Foster also expressed his happiness with Gyabi‘s performance in the tie.

He declared, “They were both very good.” “The other boys should be proud of them; they blend right in with the group. They’ve been welcomed here.

When I choose teams, I don’t consider birth certificates. Both of them are teens entering a very, very challenging game, and I felt like they handled it quite well.Ashley played the entire game with integrity. His in-possession game impressed me, and Darko has shown us what he is capable of. He exudes vitality. He wants to play forward, break lines, and get his hands on the ball.

It’s fantastic for those youngsters to get more than 90 minutes in the legs since they aren’t quite at this level of match intensity. The following week, they’ll be more resilient.

Crucial period for the Leeds midfield player

That might be Gyabi‘s most significant move to date. The 19-year-old, who moved from Manchester City for £5 million, has shown flashes. However, he hasn’t been able to advance and establish himself as a mainstay in the first team.

It’s clear that Plymouth is in the same league with them. In addition, they have their own pressure to stay in the Championship after getting promoted.
Summer bids for Gyabi were turned down by Leeds. Farke may think he can succeed at Elland Road, but that belief is still up in the air.

A strong run at Home Park might have a significant impact. He seems to be off to a very promising start, for sure.
