Ianis Hagi ‘offered’ new Rangers contract as Ibrox club negotiates terms to avoid automatic extension clause

An option to extend Hagi’s current deal won’t happen on his current wages but Romanian insists he’s open to an offer.

Rangers have offered Ianis Hagi a new deal, according to rumors.

The Romanian’s current Ibrox agreement is set to expire at the conclusion of the season. However, as MailSport exclusively revealed earlier this month, Gers would not prolong the arrangement unless Hagi is willing to accept reduced terms. The player has subsequently stated that he is open to hearing what the club has to offer, and the Heart and Hand podcast reports that a deal is on the table for the 26-year-old to explore.

Hagi’s turnaround has been remarkable, given that he appeared to be on the verge of leaving in August. After returning from a loan spell with Deportivo Alaves,  stated that he lacked the necessary qualities for a career as a Rangers number ten and would most likely depart Glasgow before the conclusion of the summer window.
