INTERNAL DISPUTE AT WEST HAM OVER NEWCASTLE TARGET MOVE

West Ham United had internal disagreements about pursuing Monaco duo Axel Disasi and Youssouf Fofana.

West Ham United’s Axel Disasi and Youssouf Fofana are at the center of an internal conflict.

According to the Daily Mail, there is a significant schism within West Ham about their transfer strategy. Some members of the coaching staff prefer to hire players who have played in England. Those individuals are looking for Joao Palhinha, James Ward-Prowse, Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire, and Alex Scott.Others are eyeing moves for Ajax’s Edson Alvarez and Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria in Europe.

Axel Disasi and Youssouf Fofana of Monaco are also in that category, with West Ham struggling to get on the same page.Perhaps we see a combination of the two thought processes, but this is not what West Ham fans were hoping to hear.

The Hammers have sold Declan Rice, and supporters hoped that his departure would open the door to new signings.West Ham not only do not appear to be close to making any additions, but they also do not appear to have a clear transfer strategy in place with the Premier League season about to begin.

West Ham must make a speedy choice on Disasi or risk losing him to a Premier League opponent.
Earlier in July, Football Transfers reported that Disasi had accepted personal terms to join Newcastle United this summer.Although no agreement has been reached, Sky Germany writer Florian Plettenberg indicated last week that Newcastle are making a strong effort to sign Disasi.

Newcastle appear to be interested in Disasi, and West Ham may not only miss out, but also have to face him shortly. The 25-year-old has flourished in France, first with Reims and now with Monaco, which has made a 2020 move for him.At 6ft 3in tall, Disasi is a tremendous physical presence in France football, routinely overpowering adversaries. We can see why Newcastle and West Ham are interested, and the latter may be left kicking themselves if they can’t agree on a deal.
