Ivan Toney has resorted to social media to give an emotional message to Brentford fans, which could indicate that the reputed Tottenham target is leaving the club this summer.

Toney has only a year left on his contract at Brentford Community Stadium, so his future has been the subject of incessant conjecture in recent months.

The 28-year-old is still being mentioned as a Tottenham target, with ESPN stating just a few days ago that Ange Postecoglou has urged the club to buy a number nine this summer, and the England international is one among the names on the Australian’s wishlist.

Spurs are thought to be competing with West Ham United and Chelsea for the centre-forward’s signature (TBR Football), but it is unclear whether Tottenham would be willing to meet Brentford’s asking price, with GiveMeSport reporting last week that the Lilywhites baulked at the Bees’ £60 million demand.
