“I’ve changed my mind about Liverpool under Arne Slot—I’m a Man Utd legend.”

Teddy Sherringham, a legend of Manchester United, asserted that Liverpool is definitely in the running for the Premier League title, despite his early doubts about the Reds’ chances.

Under Arne Slot, Liverpool has won three of their first four games this season, putting them in a scorching start. The Reds’ brand of football under their new manager has also encouraged supporters, as has their defense, which has kept them goalless thus far.

Due to Slot’s rapid adjustment to Merseyside, Sheringham, who had concerns about the Reds’ involvement in this year’s title campaign, now thinks Liverpool is right in the mix. The Premier League champion believes the Dutchman has done a “really clever way” at managing the massive task of succeeding Jurgen Klopp.

After Klopp decided to retire from Anfield after nine years in charge, Slot was given the difficult duty of taking over for the iconic German coach. But with the positive vibes now permeating Anfield, the former United striker has said that he has been just as taken by the 45-year-old’s words and composed manner as Liverpool supporters have been.

Sheringham gave a speech at the “Gaffer of all Accas” launch event for Ladbrokes and offered some advice for the title fight this year. Three clubs, in my opinion, have a chance to win the championship this year. Man City, Arsenal, and, while I wasn’t sure about them, I believe Liverpool will be up there now that the new manager has taken over,” he remarked, before continuing, “Arne Slot appears to have settled in quite nicely.” I admired the way he spoke.”

Sheringham is likewise pleased with Slot’s approach to assuming leadership after such a legendary character as Klopp. The German won the Champions League and the Premier League, among many other accolades, for the red side of Merseyside. The former West Ham striker thinks Liverpool supporters would be ecstatic at the club’s selection of their new manager and the way he has shown respect for their outgoing boss.

“He mentioned Jurgen Klopp in a really clever way; he acknowledged that the fans loved Klopp, he said he loves him too, and he assured the supporters he wouldn’t be changing a lot,” he stated. “When he stated that, I’m sure they couldn’t realize how lucky they were. He simply so perfectly nailed that statement, in my opinion. I found it to be very amazing; he handled everything so masterfully.”

The squad Slot inherited has aided in his adjustment at Anfield. The former Feyenoord coach has mostly kept a team that won the League Cup and easily finished third in the Premier League, even with the departure of a few players like Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip.

Slot has only included Italian sensation Federico Chiesa in the mix since his arrival. Sheringham believes that a little tidying up won’t hinder their prospects, though. To be honest, not much went wrong at the club, according to Sheringham. “Things can always be tweaked, especially if you’re heading into a new season having not won the league in the previous year.”

It remains to be seen how successful Slot really becomes. However, Sheringham feels the incoming manager has the “perfect” face to lead Liverpool into a prosperous new period and doesn’t think he’s “stupid” enough to attempt to replicate Klopp.

“Jurgen had a purpose, the Liverpool supporters adored him, and Slot is obviously not a moron enough to attempt to alter things and do things his own. His strategy, together with his appreciation of Klopp, is ideal for maintaining the support of both his players and the fans. They are undoubtedly in the race for the crown.
