James Maddison has sparked excitement among Tottenham fans after being photographed alongside Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze. As Gareth Southgate’s England squad prepares for Euro 2024, the pair will reunite.

As they compete for a spot in the final 26-man team for the tournament in Germany in June and July, the attacking midfield partnership have spent some time together, much to the delight of Tottenham fans. Heading into their second summer under Ange Postecoglou, Eze has been linked with a move to north London.

Eze, who has 11 goals and four assists for Palace, has emerged as one of the standout players outside of the top six. As Spurs attempt to strengthen their roster and Eze prepares for a potential promotion, Maddison’s latest social media behaviour has fans buzzing.

Maddison took to Instagram during the opening few days of the England camp to snap a photo of himself close to Eze. He merely wrote his username (@eze) and two emoticons.

However, the use of the praying hands emoji alongside a heart-shaped face has piqued interest. Often used when people wish for something, internet followers interpret it to suggest he wants Eze to join on a transfer.

One person on X/Twitter captioned the image, “Lining up together next season at Spurs?”, while others simply used the eyeball emoji. Someone another said, “Eze’s relationship with Spurs players is literally like he’s our academy graduate.” If he comes, Maddison will have a run for his money.”

Another account included the hashtag “noticing” with the photo. They said, “im leaning towards when [Eze signs] rather than if but prove us wrong levy pls [fingers crossed and crying face emojis]” .
