Jurgen Klopp has gotten almost everything right since he arrived at Liverpool.

The club’s manager transformed the Reds from doubters to believers, essentially changing everything at Liverpool.

In the process, Klopp has created the most successful Liverpool team of the modern age.

He has brought icons to the club, such as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, who will be remembered at Anfield for all time.

However, while Klopp has done almost everything correctly, Jamie Carragher believes he should have been more involved in one aspect.

This has become especially clear during Klopp‘s final international break this month.

On The Overlap with Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher discussed the international break and how Manchester City players have been withdrawing out of their national team teams left, right, and centre.

Carragher claimed that Klopp should have adopted this approach at Liverpool as well.

And that he should have urged his players to opt out of national team duty more frequently.

“I get frustrated at Liverpool because I don’t think we do it enough,” he remarked.

“Take people out of internationals. Jurgen Klopp was asking Gareth Southgate to play Gomez, and I was like, ‘Oh,’ he said.

It is true that City has had a number of players withdraw from international service during the most recent break. However, so has Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez both missed the international break due to minor injuries, but they will be available to face Brighton this weekend.

Given that they are Liverpool‘s most significant attacking players, you can’t really complain when Manchester City players do something similar.

Furthermore, Klopp is an excellent man manager who prioritises the well-being of his players over the team’s.

This means he wants them to represent their countries and perform well.

Which is why his players enjoy playing for Klopp. He sincerely wants them to succeed.

If he wasn’t like that, it’s possible that Klopp wouldn’t have had the same level of success at Liverpool.

Being a good man manager is key to how he works at Anfield.
