Jamie Carragher calls the £25 million Tottenham player who played against Manchester United “the best”

Regarding Yves Bissouma’s performance for Tottenham Hotspur versus Manchester United, Jamie Carragher has given his assessment.

On Monday Night Football (21/8 7:36pm on Sky Sports), Carragher praised Bissouma‘s performance from the previous day as “outstanding.”

Ange Postecoglou had a strong home debut as Spurs defeated United 2-0 to make a statement.
Pape Matar Sarr received his first start of the year and scored his first club goal as Spurs cruised to a commanding victory.

The day’s top performers were Postecoglou‘s midfield trio of James Maddison, Sarr, and Bissouma.

Bissouma continued his promising start to life under Postecoglou by winning his second Player of the Match award in as many outings.

Carragher was undoubtedly impressed by the Mali international’s performance.

Carragher praised Bissouma on MNF and asserted that he was the greatest midfielder on the pitch on Saturday night.

He declared Bissouma to be the greatest midfielder on the pitch. He was exceptional.

Following his £25 million transfer from Brighton to Tottenham, Bissouma had a challenging first season.

The 26-year-old found it difficult to adapt to Antonio Conte‘s system, and his injury issues didn’t help either. But it looks that the midfielder has returned to the form that led to his initial transfer to Tottenham.

Although it is still early in the season, Bissouma has undoubtedly been Tottenham’s greatest player thus far. Under Postecoglou, he is destined to become a major player.

It begs the question of why he wasn’t given a chance under Conte last season, especially given the struggles of Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the second half of the season.
