Jamie Shackleton, a Leeds United midfielder, may require shoulder surgery – Injury Expert

Dr. Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has joined us as an exclusive columnist. He’ll be sharing his thoughts on the Leeds United injury situation every week…

According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, Leeds United midfielder Jamie Shackleton may require shoulder surgery as a result of his recent injury.

If rehab does not work, the injury expert believes that going under the needle may be the only option for the 24-year-old.

Daniel Farke stated before the Bristol City game before the international break that he hoped to have him back in a few weeks, but the club has yet to confirm this.

Brar, a Physical Therapy professional and Sports Scientist, told MOT Leeds News exclusively about Shackleton:

“According to club reports, he will require further evaluation because his pain level is still too high.”

“Depending on the nature of the injury, surgery may be necessary if rehabilitation is ineffective.”

“Should he require surgery, he’s likely going to be out for multiple weeks and it remains to be seen what takes place during the break.”

This season, Shackleton has made seven league appearances for the Whites and has been a crucial utility player for Farke.

Despite his background as a central midfielder, he has been used at right-back due to Djed Spence‘s injury and Luke Ayling‘s form.

It’s fair to say that the 24-year-old has performed admirably in that capacity, and all eyes will be on Farke’s injury update ahead of the Norwich City encounter on October 21.
