Just in: Barcelona receives €70 million offer from Tottenham for the 27-year-old forward

According to a recent SPORT story, Tottenham Hotspur has offered Barcelona €70 million for Raphinha. The London club want to sign him this summer and has already made an initial offer.

According to previous rumours, Raphinha intends to remain in the Catalan capital this summer.

He does, however, understand that Lamine Yamal‘s breakout has pushed him down the pecking order, particularly in larger games.

While the coaching staff will limit his playing time, he has the potential to become the club’s first-choice winger by the next season, and he will most likely continue to feature in major games this season.

Furthermore, it was rumoured that Barcelona is hoping for roughly €100 million for Raphinha’s services this summer. They paid €60 million for his services and are sure to want at least a 30-35 percent profit.

Liverpool is also interested.
Tottenham are not the only team looking to recruit Raphinha this summer. If anything, numerous Premier League clubs are interested in the 27-year-old, who might leave Barcelona as early as this summer.

Liverpool is also keeping an eye on him, as is Ansu Fati. While the Spaniard is not performing well on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, the Merseyside club believes he can regain his fitness and promise.

Arsenal has already expressed an interest in Antony, and Manchester United may be interested as well, following Antony‘s underwhelming performances since joining last summer.

Barcelona’s Perspective
For a club in financial crisis, having numerous Premier League teams interested in one player when a €70 million bid is already on the table is a lottery.

However, Barcelona must ensure that if they accept the offer, the funds are utilised wisely. They cannot afford to put too much pressure on Lamine Yamal, and they must certainly invest part of their earnings back into the same position.

A significant portion of it should also go to the pivot position, and maybe the left-wing spot, which has been a major worry for the club this season.

At the end of the day, this notion will eventually boil down to a potential bidding war that will undoubtedly favour Barcelona. They will have to persuade Raphinha to quit, which might be a lengthy process.
