Karl Darlow seizes Leeds United’s opportunity against Harrogate following “Perfection.”

Karl Darlow should be given an opportunity to play for Leeds United and persuade Daniel Farke that he is the best goalie so that he may be promoted once more.

The goalie made two stops and kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 victory over Harrogate Town, his neighbors, on January 11 to advance his team to the FA Cup’s next round.
The 34-year-old’s only football since August has been on the international scene for Wales, where he has kept two clean sheets in three outings this season. This was his first appearance in a Leeds shirt since then.

While an accomplished goalkeeper at this level consistently warms the bench, Illan Meslier‘s well-publicized run of mistakes has lost the Whites crucial points in their attempt to return to the Premier League at the second time of asking.

During the victory at Elland Road (11 January, 19:23), Paul Robinson spoke on BBC Radio 5 Live and praised Darlow for his crucial role in stopping Josh March of Harrogate from equalizing.
He stated, “Josh March tries to get on the end of a long ball from Harrogate that is straight down the middle and James Daly with a really good flick-on.”

Karl Darlow had no choice but to come flying out of his goal and time it to perfection.

“It would have been a penalty if [March] had been around the Leeds United goalkeeper with anything on it.”

After Meslier‘s mistakes, Karl Darlow deserves a shot at Leeds United.
Many questioned the German’s loyalty to Meslier, knowing that Farke was probably going to give Darlow the jersey for Saturday’s FA Cup match.

Although he will have had harsh words in private with a player who is very experienced for his age of 24 and who understands the significance of his errors, Farke fervently supported his long-time number one.

As an international stopper who would feel at ease in a high-profile setting, some Elland Road supporters are eager to see Darlow given a lengthier chance.
The veteran made 34 league games, played in the Premier League with the Magpies, and was a regular for Nottingham Forest at this level earlier in his career. He has already won the Championship title with Newcastle United in 2016–17.

Even though Farke appears set in his ways for the time being, a stint away from the firing line might also inspire Meslier and give him the boost he needs.
