According to Pipe Sierra, Leeds United are still unsure whether midfielder Luis Sinisterra would stay at Elland Road once the transfer season closes.
On Thursday [31 August], the Win Sports TV reporter announced on his personal Twitter profile that numerous clubs had made inquiries in recent days.
Sinisterra is thought to be eager to leave West Yorkshire after Leeds were relegated from the Premier League last season.
“Leeds have still not assured the continuity of Luis Sinisterra (24); several clubs have inquired about his situation in recent days,” Sierra tweeted.
“The Colombian refuses to play in the second division.”
“He is an expensive player, so it is not an easy deal.”
No end
Leeds fans may have assumed the sagas concerning Wilfried Gnonto and Sinisterra were over after the pair were reintegrated into the team.
That has not been the case, since there are still rumours about Gnonto wishing to go [Fabrizio Romano], and teams continue to consider a last-ditch bid for Sinisterra [Graham Smyth].
Finally, the sagas will not be completely done – at least not for the time being – until the transfer window ends.
Not only in Europe, but also in Saudi Arabia, where teams have an extra week to conduct business.
Daniel Farke was pleased to start Sinisterra against Ipswich Town last weekend, and he came in as a substitute in the EFL Cup against Salford City in midweek.
To be fair to the Colombian, he focused on the task at hand and scored against Ipswich, taking the first steps towards regaining the support of Leeds‘ faithful.
If a decent deadline-day deal for the 24-year-old comes in, it will be intriguing to see how United reacts.
