Leeds United are reportedly making an official offer for Sunderland’s 17-year-old sensation Mason Cotcher.
The 17-year-old forward has recently been on trial with the Yorkshire club, and after impressing, The Telegraph reports that Leeds United wants to sign him permanently.
Mason Cotcher, who progressed through Sunderland’s academy, has lately appeared for the club at various youth levels and is regarded as one of the best young players outside of the Premier League.
Leeds United is pursuing 17-year-old Sunderland youngster Mason Cotcher.
He played for Sunderland’s U18s in Premier League 2 last season, scoring nine goals in 25 games across all competitions. He also made Mowbray’s squad for the previous season’s FA Cup match against Shrewsbury Town.
Leeds might see Cotcher as a future Elland Road player. If they are able to permanently sign him from Sunderland, he would most likely join their development squad first. According to the Sunderland Echo, Cotcher was given a deal by the Black Cats last summer but has yet to sign it.
Meanwhile, their U21 youth squad sits at the bottom of the Premier League 2 Division 1 table with 11 points, which might be where Mason Crotcher ends up if Leeds signs him in the coming weeks.
