Leeds United transfer news: Kris Moore returns from Dubai; departure is on the cards.
Hibernian manager Nick Montgomery is still to decide on the transfer of Leeds United teenager Kris Moore, who joined his side in Dubai.
Moore, who came up via Elland Road‘s academy, is a tremendously exciting talent. However, with no prior experience in first-team football, the defender has been training with Hibs during the winter break.
Moore has since returned to West Yorkshire, with a loan exit planned for the last few weeks of January, according to Sky Sports.
“We spoke with Leeds, and they permitted Kris [Moore] to join us on the journey to Dubai. Right now, we don’t know what will happen. But he’ll return to Leeds when we go back,” he told Sky Sports on Monday (15 January, 11:12am).
An opportunity to prove himself
With nearly a century of combined appearances for Leeds at the Under 18, Under 23, and youth levels, the club’s staff will be well aware of the player’s capabilities.
Moore, on the other hand, cannot make the final step up to men’s football and play in the first team under Daniel Farke since he lacks senior experience.
Hibs in the Scottish Premiership would give him the opportunity to learn and grow in a high-quality competition while learning from veterans like 543-game left-back Lewis Stevenson and 542-game Paul Hanlon.
The fact that the 20-year-old was able to go to Dubai with the Scottish side is a positive indication for the January transfer window, with many hopeful that the two clubs can reach an agreement on a loan deal.
If Moore is to become the defender that Leeds desires, he requires an extended stint away from Elland Road to gather experience and experience the highs and lows of football.
