Connor Roberts’ injury blow: Leeds United player forced off in Wales’ loss to Poland.
According to Adam Pope, Leeds United suffered an injury blow when Connor Roberts was pulled off during Wales‘ defeat against Poland.
The BBC Radio Leeds journalist tweeted after the game on Tuesday (March 26) that it was “tough” for Dan James because the Whites winger missed the key penalty for his team in their shootout loss in Cardiff.
He went on to say that Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon were “excellent” but couldn’t quite do enough to help their country qualify for the European Championships after losing in the playoffs.
Leeds United hope Connor Roberts’ injury isn’t serious.
It will be a massive loss for Leeds if Roberts is to lose any time through injury after he’s made a great impression over the past few weeks.
Although the 28-year-old hasn’t been in the starting lineup very often, he’s made an impact off the bench, and his experience with the group is certainly paying off.
Simply having someone of his calibre breathing down the necks of Archie Gray generates good competition, something Daniel Farke will not want to lose out on.
The Whites players who played for Wales against Poland will undoubtedly be disappointed that their team barely missed out on qualifying for the European Championships.
However, they are keen to put this setback behind them and assist their side earn promotion to the Premier League during the next few weeks at Elland Road.
