Leeds star who left for £500,000 has the same number of goals as Summerville in 23/24.

After leaving his previous club in the summer, this ex-Leeds man is thriving in his new surroundings.

Leeds United have recovered admirably from their relegation season, finishing third in the Championship standings after exiting the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Leicester City, a statement victory for Daniel Farke’s side.

Leicester City and Ipswich Town have been miles ahead of the promotion pack, with both sides losing a total of three games, but the Whites will take some comfort in the fact that they’ve managed to unsettle the Foxes with that win, which could start to worry Ipswich, who are currently in second place in the table.

Crysencio Summerville has emerged as a major contributor for Farke’s energised squad in recent weeks, contributing six goals and four assists in 13 games across all competitions.

The amazing Dutch talent led his side to a recent overwhelming victory over Darren Moore’s Huddersfield Town, scoring twice and assisting twice in a fantastic 4-1 triumph at Elland Road.

Summerville made the opposing defenders appear inept on the day, terrified of the winger’s presence anytime he burst forward.

However, a former Whites player is matching Summerville’s outstanding goal total in his new circumstances, with Billy Sharp impressing in the United States with LA Galaxy after retiring from Sheffield United.

Billy Sharp’s stay at Leeds University
Sharp played for a number of EFL clubs, mostly in Yorkshire, including notable spells at Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United. He also lived in Leeds for a short time.

After joining from Southampton, the now 37-year-old would get off to the greatest possible start in a Whites shirt, scoring on his debut against Middlesbrough on the first day of the season to secure a narrow 1-0 win for his side.

Sharp would only score four more goals for Leeds before joining childhood club Sheffield United for £500,000 – the 5 foot 9 forward a hero to the Bramall Lane crowd, a temporary supplier of the occasional goal at Elland Road.

The Sheffield-born striker will now finish his career in America, where the experienced attacker has been terrorising MLS defences with his goal-scoring prowess.

This season’s numbers for Billy Sharp
Sharp has been in a good vein of goalscoring form since leaving Sheffield for the United States, scoring six times for his new employers in 12 games for LA Galaxy to date, including a hat-trick against Minnesota United to help the Galaxy to a thrilling 4-3 win.

Sharp’s first goal in this MLS match was reminiscent of so many of his EFL scores over the years, as he instinctively responded to a missed opportunity by taking the initiative and blasting home himself.

Sharp was in the right place at the right time for the other two goals, making the former Blades player an instant hero in America.

His effectiveness for Galaxy has dwindled in recent weeks, with the 37-year-old showing signs of his age by failing to score in his team’s last six matches, but his scorching start to life in the MLS means he’s still an attacker defences fear.

Sharp will be hoping to rediscover his shooting boots, while his former club Leeds will be hoping to maintain hold of Summerville in January, fearing that the Whites will be attacked again for its top talents by Premier League predators.
