Leeds United adds an ex-West Ham United and Derby County man to their transfer committee.

Leeds United has appointed Jordan Miles as their new head of recruitment. Miles joins from Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, after previously working for West Ham United, Derby County, and Ipswich Town.

A United statement read: “Everyone at Leeds United would like to welcome Jordan to the club.” Miles was the Hammers’ head of recruiting analysis for seven years before taking over from Darren Mowbray, who is leaving for Southampton. He formerly held top positions at Derby County and Ipswich Town and has a background in data analysis.

Miles will report to Whites technical director Gretar Steinsson at Elland Road as part of the club’s player identification plan. As a member of the club’s transfer committee, he will work closely with Steinsson, interim football advisor Nick Hammond, and manager Daniel Farke. The committee is led by chief executive Angus Kinnear, who has supervised the formalisation of the football department since 49ers Enterprises took complete control of the club.

It was revealed in December that the Whites had approached Aberdeen about Miles and hoped to bring him to Elland Road. He recently joined from West Ham in July. According to reports north of the border, Miles’ exit is expected to result in a compensation sum for the Dons. He has been replaced at Aberdeen by Chris Badlan.

It is thought that Miles will play an important role in United’s summer transfer ambitions. Farke’s team experienced a quiet January window, with only one new signing. Wales international Connor Roberts joined on loan from Burnley for the rest of the season.
