According to reports, Arsenal is considering a deal for Josh Doig, a left-back for Hellas Verona, in order to bolster their left-back position.
Oleksandr Zinchenko‘s ailments are presently plaguing the Gunners, who loaned away Kieran Tierney and Nuno Tavares throughout the summer.
Zinchenko, the regular left-back at the club, is a key player in Mikel Arteta’s system. Unfortunately, Arsenal does not have a natural backup in that position due to his frequent injuries. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurrien Timber are both adaptable alternatives, but Timber hasn’t played since the beginning of the season, and Tomiyasu is now in the Asian Cup.
At the Emirates, Doig, who is playing well at Verona, shows promise as Zinchenko‘s replacement. Leeds United, who also need to bolster their roster for a possible promotion push, is reportedly interested in signing the Scottish left-back, so the competition for his signature is getting hotter.
Only Arsenal’s viewpoint
We are too strong for Leeds to sign any players, and if given the chance, Doig will pick a transfer to the Emirates over Elland Road.
