Leeds United are now in loan-to-buy talks with a speedy £20 million defender

Leeds United are allegedly looking for defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window.

After allowing Luke Ayling and Djed Spence to leave earlier this month, the Whites could undoubtedly benefit from adding new talent.

In addition, Leeds defender Charlie Cresswell is getting admiring looks from other teams despite his ongoing struggle for game time.

According to the report, the Whites are now in talks with Everton’s Ben Godfrey about a potential Elland Road trade.

Leeds are reportedly looking at the prospect of an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy the Toffees player in the summer.

In addition to the Whites, Newcastle United and AC Milan are reportedly interested in Godfrey.

The alleged Leeds target is now unpopular at Everton, where he was paid £20 million in 2020.

He has only appeared in three games this season, one of which was in the league.

With Godfrey’s contract lasting for another 18 months, Everton are apparently eager to sell this window to boost their finances.
