Leeds United fans will undoubtedly be enraged by the recent record-breaking news.

Leeds United are doing well in the Championship under Daniel Farke, with the Whites now sitting third in the table.

The West Yorkshire team has done its best to maintain pace with high-flying Leicester City and Ipswich Town, but passing either remains a daunting challenge.

Farke, on the other hand, can concentrate his efforts entirely on that challenge for the time being, as the Whites have no distractions after being knocked out of the League Cup by Salford City in August.

But an intriguing FA Cup run is still on the cards, though they won’t find it easy given their draw away to Peterborough United. It could have been lot worse, with Premier League clubs also entering the competition at this time.  However, Whites fans will be outraged that they have been granted an away draw, depriving them of an entertaining day at Elland Road.

And that wrath is understandable considering the club’s history in the competition, with Leeds currently holding the record for the most consecutive away draws in FA Cup history, with the game with Peterborough marking their 13th such fixture [Yorkshire Evening Post, 3 December].

That game, however, is planned for the beginning of January, which means Leeds fans will have plenty of opportunities to cheer for their club from Elland Road in the Championship in the coming weeks.

If Peterborough is defeated, West Yorkshire will almost certainly face a home tie in the fourth round.
