Leeds United gains as a possible January transfer hint involves a £7.5 million star switching agents

Like the rest of the Championship, Leeds United has an open transfer window, and changing agents at this point in the season typically means just one thing.

Carlos Forbs was connected to Daniel Farke’s Leeds United team throughout the summer. Only four days after signing with a new agency, the former Ajax winger would eventually join Wolves on the last day of August.

After his hopes of moving to the Premier League, where Everton was then leading the race, fell through in 2023, Wilfried Gnonto also contemplated changing his agency, according to The Athletic.

After a year and a half, Gnonto still seems totally dedicated to the Leeds United cause. With the £11 million player being substituted at halftime in his lone Wolves start to date, few at Elland Road will be sleeping poorly after losing out on Forbs either.

However, the Championship table-toppers may be thrilled to hear that Alvyn Sanches has chosen to change up his inner circle at a fairly exciting time if Leeds decides to go out in search of a dynamic attacker once more in early 2025.

Sanches, a star for Lausanne Sport, has been linked to Leeds intermittently in recent months. Although the Swiss title contenders are not exactly in a haste to sell, Sanches, who is reportedly valued at just £7.5 million, offers true value for money during a time when there are rarely many good buys.

As the Leeds United connection persists, Alvyn Sanches switches agents.

It is yet unknown how much of Sanches‘ agent change in the lead-up to January can be interpreted. Blick claims that the Switzerland Under-21 international, who was born in France, is currently represented by the BSG Group.

Sanches, who has nine goals and three assists this season, is more of a number 10 in the vein of Brenden Aaronson, finding gaps in the defense and navigating obstacles, rather than an all-purpose winger like Dan James or Manor Solomon.
Given that Joel Piroe failed in a deeper role and Leeds do appear to be missing options behind the striker, Sanches may be a low-cost, high-reward signing for a team with a strong starting lineup but lacking depth in a few crucial places.

Lausanne Sport, which is controlled by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos, is only one point behind the leaders of the Swiss Super League thanks to his influence. It is understandable that Stephan Henchoz, a vital part of the club’s backroom staff, is committed to seeing Sanches through the season given that their last domestic championship was won 60 years ago.

In an effort to keep Sanches in Switzerland, Lausanne Sport “will do everything.”
Henchoz, who won the FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Cup with Liverpool and amassed 72 caps for Switzerland, told Blue Win, “We will do everything to keep him.” He needs to be persuaded of the importance of our athletic endeavor.

“Of course, Alvyn will leave us to play in a major league [someday].” But isn’t it more logical to do it in January instead of June?

Henchoz continues, “We will only give him away at a fair price.” “In January, a club might make an offer that would satisfy both our and Alvyn’s demands.

However, I have hope. Alvyn secretly wishes she could end the season with us.

Central defenders seem to be a top priority for the Yorkshire giants this month as well. Christopher Wooh of Rennes and Abdukodir Khusanov of Lens have also been linked to Leeds United.

Sanches is quiet and a little reserved. He doesn’t speak much, but when he does, it’s positive stuff. Despite his seeming modesty, he is very clear about his desires. He will make us very happy if he keeps up this drive.
