Leeds United has established a price for a “leader” to leave the team permanently.

The Whites seem willing to approve a long-term sale.

According to a recent report, Leeds United’s executives have already determined the price range for a senior player who may leave the team in the upcoming season.

Leeds’s summer exits

Tyler Adams, Rodrigo, Tyler Roberts, Adam Forshaw, and Joel Robles were among the fifteen players whose sales were approved by Daniel Farke over the summer. The other ten players were loaned out for the duration of the season in order to get more playing time.

Max Wober

The Whites are aware that players like Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto drew a lot of interest during the last transfer window, so there’s a good chance they could be moving in the upcoming months. However, they aren’t the only players who have been connected to leaving.

Maximilian Wober signed with Borussia Monchengladbach in July and stayed with the team until the end of the season, after which they were relegated to the Championship. It’s safe to say that Wober has had an incredible first season as a travelling member of the Bundesliga.

With a match rating of 7.04 (WhoScored – Borussia Monchengladbach statistics), the Austrian centre back has solidly established himself as Gerardo Seoane’s best-performing player overall thus far this season. The 25-year-old’s form means that his loan club is eager to keep him around next year.

The Yorkshire Evening Post (via Fussball News) reports that Leeds has set a price for Maximilian Wober.

According to reports, Borussia Monchengladbach is aware of the cost if they wish to retain Leeds forward Max Wober. The Whites’ ability to win the championship will probably determine a lot, but Fussball News has revealed an ambiguous asking price.

According to reports, Monchengladbach will need to shell out a “low-end double digit figure” (eight figures) in order to sign Wober long-term as he settles in to life at his loan club. Wober arrived at Leeds only in January.

Although Wober‘s move to the second division made Leeds understandably want to remove him off their payroll, former manager Jesse Marsch believes that Wober can be a true “leader” at the centre of a backline, therefore selling him permanently would not have been the best course of action.

The 6-foot-2 native of Vienna is currently in the 99th percentile for blocks per ninety minutes by players in his position (FBRef – Wober statistics). He has also made more tackles this season than any of his teammates (FBRef – Borussia Monchengladbach statistics), showing that he is willing to put in the work necessary to clear the field of play.

MAX WOBER

Farke will benefit greatly from the German team’s left-footed ace’s ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch. According to Transfermarkt – Wober statistics, the player has made 32 appearances, 17 assists, and 15 goals since the beginning of his career.

It also seems sense to keep Wober in the building when he returns from loan, should the club be able to afford to have him on the books, because he can play left-back and higher up in two midfield roles in addition to his usual position at center-back.
