Noel Tornqvist, goalkeeper for Mjallby AIF, will cost Leeds United £1.7 million.
The Whites sent scouts to watch Tornqvist in action last month, and according to Fotbollskanalen, they are among a number of clubs keeping a close eye on his situation.
According to Tipsbladet, Mjallby AIF has set a £1.7 million asking price for the Swedish U21 international shot-stopper, whose contract expires in the summer of 2026.
Two Dutch clubs and Copenhagen are also said to be interested in Tornqvist, whose performances have piqued the interest of several clubs as the January transfer window approaches.
Mjällby AIF‘s director, Hasse Larsson, went so far as to confirm all of the aforementioned clubs’ interest, though he also stated that they had yet to receive any offers.
Leeds could get a good deal on Tornqvist.
Tornqvist is clearly a highly regarded goalkeeper, with several clubs already showing interest in him despite his young age of 21.
Tornqvist has already made nearly 50 senior appearances after turning down an offer to come on trial with Leeds in 2018.
Leeds’ current goalkeeping situation is certainly intriguing, with two young goalkeepers, Kristoffer Klaesson and Dani van den Heuvel, appearing to be far from the first team.
With that in mind, both could benefit from going out on loan and gaining some experience, which Tornqvist already has.
Despite intense summer speculation, Illan Meslier remains Leeds‘ first choice goalkeeper, but anything can happen, especially after the most recent transfer window.
