According to TEAMtalk, Leeds United are at “serious risk” of missing out on Luton Town full-back Ryan Giles, with Hull City leading the battle to recruit him
On January 21, the outlet reported that the Whites, Cardiff, and other interested parties have fallen behind the Tigers in the race for the defender. Luton‘s record signing is expected to leave in the January transfer window, just months after joining the promoted Premier League side from Wolves. He made only one senior appearance and was loaned out to seven different clubs.
He has only appeared 11 times in the top level under Rob Edwards, and while Daniel Farke refused to comment on potential interest in the 23-year-old this month [Adam Pope, 11 January], talkSPORT (18 January) reports that he is a target at Elland Road.

With three weeks of the transfer window gone and full-back only becoming more of an urgent concern, it does not appear like the Whites are frightened enough to force the matter. It appears that the club is satisfied to wait until the end of the month and then attempt to capitalize on opportunities that occur when knock-on effects from other transactions emerge.
That is thought to be the reasoning behind interest in Tottenham’s Ben Davies, who appears to be the ideal signing for Daniel Farke this month, given his ability to play at left-back or in the middle.
But it is a long shot to bring in a man who has played substantially for a Spurs team that is fifth in the Premier League, albeit due to injuries and suspensions.
If he proves out of reach, it may be cause for alarm that alternatives such as Giles look to be moving on in the meanwhile.
