Leeds United news: Joe Rodon joins Tottenham Hotspur; the Whites lose a player

The most recent Leeds United news from Elland Road as the team gets ready for a hectic schedule of games

Rodon looking beyond Tottenham

Since joining Leeds United from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, Joe Rodon has been a major player. Under Leeds manager Daniel Farke, the Welshman has established himself as a mainstay, adjusting well to his loan transfer from the capital.

Leeds has been discussing making the move permanent due to the defender’s outstanding performances; this could happen in January or, more likely, in the summer at the end of the season, depending on the division the Whites are in.

Talking about Football on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast.Alasdair Gold, a reporter covering Tottenham for London, stated that he thinks Rodon now sees his future outside of North London. This will be encouraging for Leeds as they try to retain the player at Elland Road.

“I believe that if I were Joe Rodon, I wouldn’t even want to return to the Spurs,” Gould remarked. Leeds has been using him like crazy, so I have no doubt that they want to keep him. He’s been outstanding for them, so I wouldn’t be shocked if in January they attempted to arrange a contract to sign him long-term, whether that be at the conclusion of the season or something else.

Poveda jets out of leeds
Ian Poveda, 23, has been cleared to travel for two friendlies in the USA for his parents’ home country of Colombia. As a result, Leeds United may be without him for up to three Championship games.

If Poveda plays in either game, it will be his first time representing Colombia. Poveda played for several England youth teams up to the under-20 level. Nestor Lorenzo‘s team will play Venezuela on Sunday in Florida at 11 p.m. (UK), and then depart for California on December 17 to play Mexico at midnight (UK).

Poveda will therefore be ineligible for Leeds‘ matches against Sunderland and Coventry City the following week, and the team’s trip to Blackburn Rovers this weekend is also in jeopardy. About 32 hours will pass between the conclusion of Saturday’s match and the start of Colombia‘s first friendly.

Leeds United fixture move in the offing

A live TV broadcast may have an impact on another Leeds United match in the upcoming weeks as they start their most recent FA Cup journey. Over the weekend, the Whites were drawn away to League One Peterborough United in the competition’s third round.

The first weekend of January will see Daniel Farke’s team visit London Road; the precise date and kickoff time have not yet been determined. Who plays when will be decided by BBC and ITV based on their broadcast choices.

After his fourth season in charge, Posh manager Darren Ferguson is thrilled with the team’s performance in drawing Leeds. The team is currently fifth in League One. The 51-year-old anticipates an incredible atmosphere because he knows the Whites will sell out any away allocation they are given.

“The draw has me extremely pleased,” he told the Peterborough Telegraph. “You want to play against a team that can draw a full house and contribute to creating a fantastic atmosphere if you want to win at home. Leeds will carry that out. Whatever allotment they are given, they will sell out. They are a very large and successful club.
