A Leeds United player has confirmed his move to Newcastle United: “Absolutely delighted”

Since Dan Ashworth was appointed sporting director for Newcastle United last year, the academy has undergone a significant restructuring.

Newcastle United has expanded its team of academy analysts. Recently former Leeds United player Jordan Davison has announced his arrival on social media.

Dan Ashworth has restructured the Magpies’ academy since coming on board as the club’s sporting director from Brighton and Hove Albion last summer. He has done this by creating a number of crucial posts.

Paul Midgley (Head of Head of Youth Recruitment), Paul Mclaren (Head of National Youth Scouting 13s to 18s), and Ciaran Hughes (Lead Video Analyst) have all joined from Manchester City, as have Edward Black (Lead Academy Scout U9s to U14s), Delroy Ebanks (Academy Lead Scout for the South of England), Josh Appleyard (Positional Analyst), and Oliver Slater (Positional Analyst).

Davison joins as an under-21s performance analyst, a job he previously held at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bradford City.

“Thank you for everything @LUFC,” he wrote earlier this month on Twitter. “From my time as an U16 analyst to my time with the first team, I fell in love with the club.” I’m grateful for my trip and the opportunity to work with some incredible folks along the road. I wish everyone at the club the best of luck in the future.”
