Illan Meslier, the goalkeeper for Leeds United, has been linked with a move to Inter Milan.
Sport Mediaset journalist Marco Barzaghi was taking stock of the Serie A club’s transfer targets on his YouTube channel. When asked about the goalkeeping position, Barzaghi mentioned the Leeds player.
The 23-year-old has been praised by the journalist, who believes he could be considered by the Italian club, who have also been offered Napoli‘s Alex Meret.
“Meret, whose contract at Napoli expires [in 2024], has been offered.” Meslier from Leeds, a former French Under 21 player with a lot of promise, is another option,” he said.A move to San Siro would be a significant step forward in the Frenchman’s career. For the time being, Barzaghi has only stated that the Whites goalkeeper is one of the options Inter could look into if they decide to strengthen the goalkeeper position.
Meslier joined Leeds on loan from FC Lorient in 2019 before making the move permanent a year later. He has been the English club’s first-choice goalkeeper since the beginning of 2020.
He has six clean sheets and 18 goals conceded in 18 games this season, helping Daniel Farke‘s side to the third best defence in the Championship.
