Leeds United to pay £7.5 million to sign the midfielder who has 23 goals and 10 assists

Leeds United is actively looking to strengthen their team as the January transfer window approaches.

The Yorkshire club finds itself in a desirable situation, sitting third in the Championship table with one game remaining, two points behind second-placed Burnley and three points behind leaders Sheffield United.

With promotion to the Premier League firmly in sight, the Whites are determined to sustain their momentum in the second half of the season. To attain this goal, Daniel Farke‘s team is primarily looking for reinforcements in the number 10 position.

Leeds United wants Alvyn Sanches.

Recent reports have linked FC Lausanne-Sport’s potential talent, Alvyn Sanches, who now competes in the Swiss Super League, with a move to Leeds United.

However, Sanches has attracted a number of suitors. According to Corriere dello Sport, Newcastle United has entered the race, along with Lazio and Fiorentina. The 21-year-old’s price tag is allegedly about £7.5 million.

Sanches, who came through Lausanne-Sport’s junior program, committed to the club by signing his first professional deal in November 2020. His outstanding improvement resulted in a contract renewal in 2022, ensuring his services until 2026.

The attacking midfielder has had an outstanding season, scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists in 21 matches across all competitions, bringing his club total to 23 goals and 10 assists.

Despite suggestions that Lausanne may be willing to sell, recent remarks indicate that Sanches is unlikely to leave teams midway through the season in January.

While Daniel Farke has recently relied on Brenden Aaronson in the attacking midfield position, the German coach is looking for a more consistent player in this critical spot to improve the team’s attacking powers.

The next several weeks will determine whether Leeds can effectively manage the competition from other interested parties and persuade Sanches to join their Championship campaign with the promise of Premier League football.
