News on Leeds United’s transfers, including a planned Premier League swap agreement for the January transfer window

The most recent Leeds United transfer news and rumours as the January transfer window approaches.

Here is the most recent Leeds United transfer news as the January 1st, 2024 transfer window opens.

LUIS SINISTERRA

Will Sinisterra return?

Leeds United fans likely thought they’d seen the last of Luis Sinisterra at Elland Road, at least for the time being. However, if a new report is to be believed, this may not be the case. TEAMtalk is reporting that the Whites will recall Sinisterra from his loan spell at Bournemouth, with Jaiden Anthony following suit.

In the summer, the Whites agreed to a season-long swap deal in which Sinisterra went to the Premier League and Anthony came to Elland Road as part of the deal. It hasn’t worked out for either party so far, with Sinisterra starting just one Premier League game this season, while Anthony has played more but mostly off the bench, starting just two games and scoring one goal in 16 appearances.

If the swap goes through, it’s unclear whether Sinisterra will be welcomed back into the fold at Leeds or if the club will look to secure him a new loan deal elsewhere.

Battle begins for League Two ace

Ali Al-Hamadi is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after lower league players, with a slew of clubs keen to sign the youngster. According to new reports, the 21-year-old is attracting attention with his performances for League Two’s AFC Wimbledon and now has Leeds United on his list of potential suitors.

The Whites are said to be keen on the Iraqi international forward, who has 13 goals and six assists this season. Hull City, Sunderland, and Blackburn Rovers have also been linked with the player.

As a 14-year-old, he moved to Tranmere Rovers before signing his first professional contract with Wycombe Wanderers, from whom he transferred in January of this year.
