Leeds United centre-back Diego Llorente is still a target for PSG this month, as he prepares to play under a new coach at Roma, Daniel De Rossi
Leeds‘ loan contingent has already lost one player to a permanent transfer, with Robin Koch signing a pre-contract deal to join Eintracht Frankfurt this summer. Diego Llorente, currently at Roma in the Serie A, is another centre-back who is receiving interest.
PSG wants Diego Llorente from Leeds
An unexpected turn of events this month has seen Luis Enrique‘s PSG team target a second Leeds defender on a permanent basis.
First it was Pascal Struijk, who proved too expensive, and now it’s Diego Llorente, with journalist Santi Aouna stating that the French club is still looking for the Spaniard:
“The Diego Llorente file is still on the table (contrary to the denials). Those close to Campos met this week to try to move the file forward.”
Also on PSG’s list is Lille sensation Leny Yoro, as the 18-year-old continues to shine in what appears to be his breakout season in Ligue 1.
Not only that, but Foot Mercato previously stated that Llorente is interested in a move to the Parc des Princes this month.
He is currently on loan at Roma under Daniele De Rossi, who took over after Jose Mourinho was fired, and he may be eager to work under Enrique, the last Spain coach to grant him a national team cap.
Roma will not want their loan arrangement with Llorente terminated, therefore if PSG wants Leeds to go with a move, they will have to pay up.
A move to Paris would be a significant boost for Llorente‘s chances of making the Spain squad for the Euros this summer.
He’s not a player who would be welcomed back with open arms, considering that he wasn’t particularly good for us in the Premier League, but it’s encouraging to see that he’s found his feet after being released by the club a year ago.
