Leeds United have inquired about the transfer of Hammarby defender Nathaniel Adjei, according to LUFC FANZONE.
On July 8, the news outlet, which previous owner Andrea Radrizzani said has sources within the club, stated that the Whites have rekindled their interest in the 21-year-old following the departures of Charlie Cresswell and Diego Llorente.
Leeds visited with Swedish team Hammarby in early 2024, but did not seek a permanent move at the time.
LUFC FANZONE tweeted: “Following the departure of Charlie Cresswell and Diego Llorente, LUFCFANZONE understands that Leeds United have reignited their interest in Hammarby defender Nathaniel Adjei.”
“Leeds met with Hammarby in January regarding a possible January transfer, but a move was not perused, however the club have enquired about the 21 year old again over the past few days as they look to bolster their centre back options.”
Nathaniel Adjei would be a good signing for Leeds United.
At 21 years old, he represents a long-term investment with the potential for growth and development if coached and supported properly.
His experience in the Swedish division with Hammarby IF, as well as his loan at Lorient, demonstrate his adaptability and competitiveness.
Defensively, Adjei‘s presence could strengthen Leeds’ backline because his physical traits and ability to read the game compliment the team’s style of play, particularly in a league noted for its physicality like the Championship.
Adjei‘s possible arrival would not only address this void, but would also bring new energy and competition to the squad, encouraging existing players to perform better.
