Leeds United will pay compensation to facilitate Jordan Miles’ entry at Elland Road;timeline set

According to Football Scotland, Aberdeen’s head of recruitment Jordan Miles will join the ranks of Leeds United after the January transfer market closes.

On Sunday (7 January), the newspaper reported on its website that the Dons’ recruitment chief will leave for Elland Road in February, having only joined them from West Ham United in July, as he seeks a return to the English game.

Leeds will have to pay Aberdeen a compensation sum for Miles’ services, and he is hesitant to abandon the Scottish Premiership club, despite the fact that the Whites intended to have him in place before the January transfer market opened.

Instead, Miles will join Yorkshire once the January transfer window closes, as the Whites attempt to make a “assault” on the Championship playoff positions.

A new leader has been appointed

It’s a shame Leeds United were unable to complete this transaction before the January transfer window, as Miles‘ skills would have undoubtedly helped the Whites negotiate this mid-season market to aid their promotion push. But it’s encouraging to see that the 49ers and those in control at Elland Road are already preparing for future transfer windows by putting people in place behind the scenes to help the Whites progress.

Leeds‘ willingness to pay a compensation fee to get Miles’ to Elland Road, rather than seeking for other possibilities, is also an indication of intent. They want the appropriate people working out of Thorp Arch, and Miles is certainly one of them.

It may not be as exciting as a new number nine or an explosive left winger, but this could be one of Leeds United’s most essential signings in their quest to return to the Premier League.

In other Leeds United news, it has been stated that Middlesbrough will have to pay nearly all of Joe Gelhardt’s wages in order to sign him on loan come January.
