Leeds United’s 10-goal scorer is on trial; teenager desired by Arsenal and Manchester United

Leeds United have reportedly taken former Sunderland youngster Mason Cotcher on trial at Thorp Arch.

The 17-year-old has had trials at several respectable clubs this season, including Arsenal and Manchester United, and is currently being evaluated by Leeds, according to the Sunderland Echo.

Mason Cotcher
Cotcher faced Leeds in a recent U18 Premier League match, which Man United won 4-0 over Rob Etherington‘s junior team, and he also scored and assisted for Arsenal’s U18s, who were coached by former Premier League and England midfielder Jack Wilshere, against Crystal Palace.

The former Sunderland teen left the club last summer and has spent this season on trial at several clubs, but has yet to agree new terms and is thought to be considering multiple possibilities. Cotcher most recently scored for Leeds in a 1-0 victory over his former club Sunderland, as United maintained their unbeaten streak.

Mason Cotcher
Cotcher scored ten goals in 19 league games for Sunderland‘s under-18s last season. The player was also added to former manager Tony Mowbray’s squad for the FA Cup Third Round against Shrewsbury Town in early 2023, but opted to leave at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Leeds‘ U18s are in the FA Youth Cup quarterfinals this week, seeking to beat Liverpool and advance to the semi-finals against Millwall.
