Leeds United’s “clamour” for £15 million-rated star is growing by the week- Graham Smyth

Leeds United will almost certainly be interested in making Joe Rodon a permanent signing when the opportunity arises in 2024, which should be a formality.

Liam Cooper‘s injury in the first game of the season prompted Leeds to look for a centre-back in the transfer market, and Joe Rodon was the answer.

Since then, the Welshman has been one of the club’s most important signings, partnering Pascal Struijk to great effect.

Graham Smyth offers transfer advice.
Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post has now shared more information on the possibility of Leeds pursuing Rodon permanently in 2024, which is becoming increasingly clear by the week.

Rodon‘s match-winning block against ‘Boro was the latest in a long line of crucial contributions this season, and Smyth believes it’s ensuring Rodon is a wanted man next year:

“This season, the centre-back has made a number of crucial blocks, and he was at it again in the second half against Middlesbrough.”

Rodon‘s performances have been consistently solid since joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, and the pressure on him and Leeds to make that deal permanent grows with each match.” He was one of the better players against Boro.”

This sentiment is shared by Ethan Ampadu.
Rodon‘s teammates agree that his permanent signing is a must, despite media and fan consensus.

Ethan Ampadu commented on Rodon’s Instagram post over the weekend, emphasising Rodon‘s importance in this squad:

According to Phil Hay, signing Rodon on a permanent basis would have cost Leeds £15 million during the summer transfer window.

When the opportunity to make him a permanent fixture here arises, he must be a top priority.

Rodon clearly enjoys his time here, as do his teammates, and the fans support everything he’s done thus far.

It appears that the only thing left to do is negotiate the asking price with Spurs, who are unlikely to object to Rodon leaving for the right price.
