Although the names Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Stefan Jovetic are well-known in the Premier League, the mere mention of them will make Leeds duo Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev shiver on Monday morning.

Leeds signed Kamara and Gruev late in the summer window, as Daniel Farke immediately fortified the midfield. Kamara made his debut for Leeds last season as a late substitute against Sheffield Wednesday.
Gruev was prevented from doing so because he lacked certain documents and international approval. However, both players promptly rushed off to represent their respective countries, playing twice for Finland and once for Bulgaria.
Kamara was merely a substitute in last week’s 1-0 triumph over Kazakhstan, but he started against Denmark at home. Finland looked as if they could sneak a decent result against a strong side for the full 90 minutes.
However, it cost £20 million. Hojbjerg, a Tottenham midfielder, shattered Finland’s hearts with a superb right-footed shot from the best part of 25 yards into the bottom corner. There are only four minutes left on the clock. 1-0.
Leeds duo Gruev and Kamara suffer late international heartbreak
If you thought that was horrible, wait until you see Gruev and Bulgaria. Gruev was blamed for his country’s 1-0 loss against Iran on Thursday after failing to get enough purchase on a header to his custodian.
Bulgaria were on the verge of grabbing a good away point against Montenegro after starting back in his more natural position of central midfield. However, ex-Man City midfielder Jovetic struck, sending a header in at the far post.
Gruev is in despair. A disappointing international break for him, with the one bright spot being that he now has 10 caps for his country, having won his tenth on Sunday. Both will be returning to Yorkshire.
